Charles Gregory is well known for his trend setting hair creations, elegant makeup designs and entrepreneurial spirit.
With more than 18 years of experience in cosmetology and beauty instruction, Mr. Gregory owns and operates Charles Gregory Salon, an upscale, full-service salon located in Fayetteville Georgia a prominent Atlanta suburb. Opening early fall in Green Briar Mall Atlanta, Georgia.
A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, Mr. Gregory was inspired at an early age by his mother, who was also a cosmetologist and a salon owner. After graduating from the Arnold International University of Cosmetology in 1980, he became a popular stylist at Valencia's Beauty Salon. From there, he managed Talk Of The Town Salon, and for four years owned and was the featured stylist at Cutting Attractions. In 1985, Mr. Gregory became the proprietor of Visions, a boutique specializing in women's apparel. He has also taught cosmetology at Talk Of The Town School and American Beauty College. He is sought after for educational seminars and trade shows such as: Bronner Brothers, World's Hair Expo, Black and Hispanic Show, the International Beauty Show and the National Beauty Culturalist League.
Mr. Gregory was hired as the key hair stylist on the set of " D. R. O. P. Squad," a Spike Lee production filmed in Atlanta. In 1993, 2nd hair stylist for the HBO Production of " Miss Evers Boys," which aired in February of 1997, 2nd hair stylist for CBS Miniseries "Mama Flora's Family," which aired in November of 1998. Mr. Gregory was key hair stylist for TNT production "Passing Glory," which was aired on the TNT network in February 1999. Mr. Gregory also styled hair for the CBS movie 'Having Our Say' about the Delaney Sisters ,'BoyCott' for HBO Productions, 'Remember The Titans' starring Denzel Washington, and 'Drumline' for 20th Century Fox to be released late fall 2002.
His impressive client list includes actresses Halle Berry, Queen Latifah, Alfre Woodard, Regina Taylor, Raven Simone, Ruby Dee, Elise Neal, Alexia Robinson and Suzanne Douglas, actors Eric Lasalle, Laurence Fishburne, Blair Underwood, Mario Van Pebbles, Ossie Davis, Obba Babtunde, Bill Nunn, Khalil Kain, Andre Brauer, Craig Sheffer, Joe Morton ,Mikelti Williamson, Vondee Curits -Hall, and Ving Rhames, jazz musician George Howard, former Atlanta Braves right fielder David Justice and singers Jennifer Holliday, Escape, Monica, and Blackgirl.
His hair and makeup designs have graced the covers of several magazines including "Jet," "Shoptalk," " Sophisticate's Black Hair Styles and Care Guide." His work has been featured in " American Salon," "Modern Salon," "Studio Magazine," and other leading cosmetology publications.
Mr. Gregory's accomplishments has won him silver and bronze medals in the Oscar D' Elegance ladies hair styling competition in Belgium in 1989 and 1991, respectively. He is an active member of the National Hairdressers and Cosmetology Association and the Georgia Hair Stylist and Cosmetology Association, and also holds a position on the Georgia Education Committee.
