Image and Hair designer Priscilla Dornes started her journey of the cosmetology industry at the tender age of seven. By watching people Priscilla discovered her gift of braiding into cornrows. By the time she reached the age of nine she mastered Micro Braiding. After watching her Uncle struggle with his obesity and her Aunt barely making ends meet, Priscilla put all her frustration into mastering the skills of being a stylist. Priscilla says, “Making money for something that I love to do, became a plus. Doing hair was enough for me”. By the time Priscilla made thirteen, her clientele Range from Harris County to Jefferson County varying from church members, nurses, lawyers, and teachers. Going through a rough time on her life, she was forced to relocate to Harris County permanently. Moving away from the foundation of her clientele did not stop her, only gave her a better idea. She began to pass out flyers in her new community. Doing something that was not popular nor were too many people wiling to do. “Stay at Home and get your beauty on” became the next big step for her career.
